About us

Who we are

Timothy Katende and Herbert. J. Tamale created TK Soccer Charity to help in transforming the underprivileged kids, living in the projects of Uganda that are being neglected, dejected, and resentful to becoming hopeful and productive individuals within their societies

TK Soccer Charity is a Soccer Charity in Uganda that was started in 2018 by Timothy, Katende.  This charity is free and open to all underprivileged kids.  It uses soccer training to provide a safe, healthy environment for kids to build confidence.

Eventually, this will give kids the freedom and a platform to express themselves by adapting positive leaderhisp skills that would propel them to becoming productive citizens within their communities.

Our approach

How TK Soccer Charity Started
In December 2018, Timothy’s wife, Patricia Kemirembe went for emergency surgery after developing a medical complication.

To keep  the rest of the family occupied, every evening, Timothy took the boys to Shimon Demonstration School field, a nearby publicly owned playground to play soccer. With 7 kids, Timothy was drawn into forming a team. To do so, he focused on structuring and defining the technical and tactical  approaches of training soccer in an structured setting.

Eventually, the designed practices brought more excitement, inspiration, and focus to the kids.

Since practices were free and open to the public, the kids numbers grew exponentially. Timothy quickly learned how to be a better coach, a mentor, a parent, and a guardian. With the continued grown in numbers, Timothy formed the TK Soccer Charity.
