What we do

We support children and youth to reach their full potential!

Through fundraising from well-wishers, TK Soccer Charity is committed to providing a safe culture that offers free soccer training skills and individual life lessons to underprivileged kids of diverse socio-economic backgrounds in Uganda.
Eventually, this would give kids the freedom and the platform to express themselves by adapting positive leadership skills that would propel them to becoming productive citizens within their
communities.

Provide opportunity

We offer structured opportunities in a safe environment to underprivileged youth in Uganda. This is achieved through the use of free soccer training and mentoring.

Provide Soccer Equipment

Many of the kids at our charity play barefoot, or wear whatever clothes, shoes, and gear they can find. We provide gear to these kids so that they can train properly.

Provide Mentorship

Today’s youth need a helpful hand and right guidance at every stage. We provide mentorship for youth of all ages and offer opportunities for young kids to mentor others.

Transportation

Kids will fail to make it to all practices due to transportation, while others walk long distances and can only catch the end of practices. We help by providing transportation to and from activities.

Fight Childhood Obesity

Many of our kids don’t have access to healthy food options. We provide meals for kids before, during, and after all activities and teach them the value of proper nutrition.

Giving back

Thankful for the opportunities that soccer provided our founders, we want to give back some of what we were given. Using soccer as an avenue to grow as a player and person.

We need help

Cost of managing the TK Soccer Charity

Since most kids are from underprivileged communities, they cannot afford the cost of playing soccer. We have growing costs as the word spreads and we grow the number of players we can accomodate.

  • Field Rental fees for 5 days per week/30 weeks per year
  • Transportation kids to and from activities
  • Feeding kids before, during and after the games
  • Buying uniforms, soccer cleats, balls, nets, glags, goals, cones, discs, flag flaps, water bottles, tents, etc.
  • Field landscape fees (lining and lawn care)

Optimizing Communication

Since this growing charity is run by limited personnel currently, there is limited communication with all the kids and parents outside of their scheduled events. Timothy needs more parent involvement or volunteers to act as ambassadors.

Maintaining proper player attendance

Some kids will fail to make it to all practices due to transport issues. While others walk long dstances and can only catch the tail end of practices. The charity will need financial support to buy/rent a bus and provide drivers that can pick up and drop off all the kids.

Mentors Needed

Some of these kids have missing parents, are abandoned, or come from troubled homes which affects their general behavior, committment and academic performance. With no parents in a family, we often see kids raising a fellow sibling. This is a heavy burden on some kids that can often make them resentful. Further this affects their relationship with others and their ability to focus on themselves . We act as a mentor or guardian for these kids, and need more volunteers to help support these kids.
